VIZhyal 0.1% is a sterile, ophthalmic soothing and moisturising solution, with physiological pH. It is based on Sodium hyaluronate, a natural substance that can be found in your eyes, so these eye drops are a gentle, natural way to relieve the symptoms of moderate dry eyes such as burning, itching, and grittiness (foreign body sensation).
The drops also act as a humectant and lubricant, providing relief for dry eye conditions, including those associated with the use of PCs, infrequent blinking, certain medical treatments, atmospheric pollution, dry atmospheres (e.g. air conditioning, wind and sun).
Sodium hyaluronate solutions have a high viscosity compared to viscous agents-free solutions, which means the eye drops stay on the surface of the eye longer and do not need re-applying frequently. They are ideal for those who need long-lasting hydration and lubrication.
The drops create a protective film, which minimises friction between the eyelid and the surface of the eye, lessening irritation, and discomfort.
